Powered Up Meal Replacement Coffee

by Rebekah Kuk
My second cup of coffee of the day is often fueled with collagen and healthy fats.

Powered Up

Are you on the go in the mornings and need something to nourish your body and brain? Do find you don’t have time for breakfast but need to focus, fast? Here is the perfect beverage to get you started out right and help you meet your weight loss, mental focus, and time management goals.

What is Powered Up Meal Replacement Coffee?

It is simply brewed coffee blended with coconut oil, ghee and collagen peptides. It is perfect for those who don’t do dairy, since the creaminess and frothiness comes from blending healthy fat and collagen into coffee. It helps with weight loss when used in the context of a healthy diet and, especially, intermittent fasting. It helps with mental focus by providing caffeine and healthy fat nourishment to the brain. And it helps with time management because you can sip and go, as opposed to dirtying up a bunch of dishes and then taking time out to eat a meal. Let’s dive into how this meal replacement coffee helps us to power up.

Weight Loss

Do you struggle with cravings, specifically cravings for sugar or carbs? Often times that is a signal that you are not getting enough proper nourishment. By proper nourishment, I mean nutrients from a colorful array of vegetables and fruits, sustainable proteins (read: grass fed and pastured meats, eggs, and wild caught fish), and healthy fats.

Healthy fats come in the form of pasture-raised animal fats, extra virgin olive oil, unrefined coconut oil, avocados, nuts and seeds. These fats can be eaten until you feel full. It may take some trial and error to figure out the levels that fill you up vs. what is too much, but every person can experiment to determine which fats make them feel best and what their fat limit is within their diet.

Keeping in mind that the best way to lose weight is to avoid processed food and high carb diets as well as to move every day, collagen can help aid in weight loss when used in the context of a healthy diet. Collagen has been shown to help us feel full and help us with recovery and joint health when we exercise

Coconut oil is a healthy fat that may help with weight loss. This interesting article points out that coconut oil is a medium chain triglyceride (MCT) fat that is burned as fuel instead of stored as fat. Coconut oil also helps us feel satisfied and less likely to reach for unhealthy sugary or processed foods.

Collagen and coconut oil can help with weight loss.

Mental Focus

The caffeine found in coffee and tea can help with mental focus, according to this article. It can help our brains function better and help us solidify new memories.

Our brains are made out of nearly sixty percent fat. In order to support healthy brain function, we better be eating healthy fats. Ghee is butter that has had the water and milk solids removed and it is a wonderful fat source. It has long been used ayurvedic medicine to help the brain function well and to stabilize moods, as well as improve digestion, promote longevity and protect against disease.

Finally, this study showed improvements in brain structure and cognitive function, specifically, cognitive language ability in people who daily consumed collagen.

Time Management

This last perk we get from Powered Up Meal Replacement Coffee is kind of a bonus. Who likes eggs for breakfast? I do. Who likes sausage and greens for their first meal of the day? I do. Who doesn’t always have time for dishes and sitting down at the table for 15 minutes to eat? I don’t.

While I love myself a real sit down breakfast for one or two mornings a week, the truth is I don’t always have the time. I’m either at the computer or working in the garden or running errands. That’s where this Powered Up Meal Replacement Coffee comes in. It helps me stay on track with my eating goals. It helps me focus. And it doesn’t take more than 10 minutes to make, grab and go.

Does It Have To Replace A Meal?

This coffee has fat and partial protein, in the forms of coconut oil, ghee and collagen peptides. It has enough in it to replace a meal, at least for me. With that said, you know your own body and hunger levels. If you need to pair this with a hard boiled egg or some fruit, by all means go for it. But try to keep in mind the ingredients that this Powered Up Meal Replacement Coffee has in it and recognize that you are in fact consuming food when you drink it. Sometimes our brains get a little confused about drinking our nourishment vs. eating it. We’re still getting nourishment when we drink it.
