My Collagen Rich Morning Smoothie

They say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I think that may be true for some but not for others, especially with intermittent fasting and time restricted eating these days.

Regardless of when you eat your breakfast, it is important to make sure it’s hearty. A sugary cereal or granola bar in the past has set me up for cravings later in the day. Even when I have sourdough waffles with butter and maple syrup, I feel strong cravings for carb-heavy foods or sugar later that day.

I get on kicks when I drink this smoothie for weeks at a time. Then I switch it up by having eggs and vegetables with avocado for breakfast. As much as I love this smoothie, I do believe variety is also important for our bodies.

Benefits of Collagen and Healthy Fats

I like this smoothie because it is so filling and it helps me maintain my weight and muscle definition. I don’t need any snacks before my lunch four to five hours later. It tastes good and makes me happy. The good fats found in this recipe make our brains happy. Without enough fat we can have cravings, feel irritable and even develop conditions like depression, dry skin and hair.

The collagen peptides are kind of essential in this smoothie. They help hair, skin, nails and joints. But even if you don’t have the collagens or don’t want to pay the money to buy them, you can still make this smoothie and get all the benefits of the healthy fats.

Let me know if you give it a try.

Collagen peptides are an essential part of this smoothie
