Easy Savory Sourdough Pancakes

These easy savory pancakes are a simple way to use extra sourdough starter. Serve with fresh tomato and a fried egg.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups sourdough starter discard
  • 1 tbsp garlic and seed spice mixture
  • 1-2 tbsp bacon fat, olive oil, or butter

Equipment

  • cast iron pan

Method
 

  1. Heat pan over medium heat. A cast iron skillet is best, but any will do. When pan is hot, add bacon fat, olive oil, or butter to the pan.
  2. Pour sourdough starter by 1/4 cupfuls to the hot pan. Sprinkle garlic and seed mixture on top. Let cook 1-2 minutes, then flip and finish cooking on the other side, about 1 minute longer.
  3. Serve with fresh sliced tomato and fried egg.
